Sustainability: Risk or Reward?

Last week Agrible team members attended the Global Sustainability Summit in Nashville, TN in hopes of connecting the story and showing how large scale sustainability is possible in the supply chain. One of the highlights of the summit was their panel discussion: Sustainability: Risk or Reward?

Agrible brought together Jay Watson, Sustainability Engagement Manager at General Mills, Truett Asti, Purchasing Manager at Barilla and Jeff Peters, Director of Sustainability and Partnerships at Agrible to talk about the challenges and successes in their experiences of scaling sustainability. Agrible’s Chief Strategy Officer, Cynthia Bruno moderated the discussion. With a packed room, panelists were able to tell their sustainability story and help others determine next steps in their sustainability journey.

“This was the open and honest conversation about the challenges to achieving a sustainable supply chain that the industry needed,” said Bruno. “It’s important for everyone who is working in sustainability to come together and learn for each other’s success and challenges which is exactly what this panel provided.”

Panelists answered questions about the role that technology plays in sustainability and the importance of having a connection with the growers in order to reach sustainability goals and meet demands in today’s consumer marketplace.
